LOCAL ARTISTS
The Dales has a wealth of artists who are inspired by its beauty. At Grassington House Hotel we aim to be able to help the local artists by displaying their work on our walls.
The artwork will be changed every 3 months or so to give different artists an opportunity to display and, hopefully, sell their work.
Hannah Chesterman
Hannah uses watercolour and mixed media to make images about the Yorkshire Dales inspired by her heroes Monet, John Sell Cotman, Turner and the Japanese woodblock artists Hiroshige, Hokusai and Yoshida. Hannah's current work is making an interesting shift into a more expressive style, abstracting her more representational work of recent years.
More of Hannah's work can be seen at the Art Garden and Pottery - on Main Street, under the archway just before the hardware shop. Price range: £150 - £400 Tel. 01756-753434
Elizabeth Helen Spencer

More of Liz's work can be seen in the gallery above Harlequin on Main Street. Commissions undertaken Price range: £45 - £175 Tel. 01756-752345
Dave Oldridge
Dave produces Giclée prints created by combining and layering original digital photographic images, blending them to hide or highlight different elements. The result is a mixture of reality and fantasy, the objective and subjective woven together. He is inspired by the organic shapes and curves of the human form in juxtaposition with angular urban lines of metal and concrete. The work is also influenced by comic book art and highly stylised cinematography. Recent work has involved taking straight unaltered images but from strange viewpoints using colour and texture to illuminate and deceive the eye.
Dave also runs "Revelation" a new sensuous portrait side to his business, for more details visit the Web Site at: www.in-art.co.uk or phone on 01756 753942 or 07946 487476.
Please enquire within or telephone the artist if you wish to purchase any one of the displayed artwork.
